natural remedy Salt Lamps

Salt Lamps Your Salvation From Respiratory Irritation
by Richard Haigh
Having a quality home air purifier is important these days, especially if you, or someone in your family, has asthma, allergies, or other respiratory disorders. If you like to have natural technology then a salt lamp might be a good choice as an air purification for your home.

A Salt Lamp is the natural choice for a air purifier. There is a lot of technology for air purification existing today, many of them have made some advancements in design and had the marketing muscle to make it their air purifiers a household name in no time.

All these air purifier systems, which have been introduced, use filters and such to remove particulates from the air as the main way.Salt lamps attract impurities from the air naturally, instead of using technology. Another difference between salt lamps and other air purifier technology is that there are no fans to circulate the air, but instead "pull" air natural. This means Salt Lamps are virtually silently to operate,so they can run continuously without adding to the noise level in the home, and without causing any interference with sleep.

Because of the lack of fans in Salt Lamps they are also extremely energy efficient, using much less electricity to operate on a daily basis than their counterparts with blowers. This helps to greatly lower the cost of operating a Salt Lamp, and since air purifiers must be run everyday around the clock, this can add up to significant savings over the course of a year.

Another area of saving is the lack of filters. With other air purifiers, the filters must be replaced on a regular basis in order to maintain a high level of efficiency and effectiveness in pulling the dangerous pollutants from the air. This cost can add up greatly over the life of the machine.

You will be able to enjoy the highest level of efficiency from your Salt Lamp if you make sure that the doors and windows in the home are kept closed. Doing this will allow the air cleaner to remove the particulates in the home without constantly introducing new contaminants into the environment.

None of the above can be backed up by "science" and a lot of people will dispute this claim about the effeteness of Salt Lamps as salvation from respiratory irritation. All I can say is that; for myself who coughs a lot: when I am in my house ( which is full of Salt Lamps ) I feel wonderful and do not cough at-all.
Go to the places where they work in the mines ( or read about it on the Net )and you will find that the people there do not have asthma or any such.

Do salt lamps do anything:

Well: here is something that I picked up from the British press:

Salt Lamp sold by Crystalite Salt
CLAIM: Negative ions are produced when you heat the salt rock that removes harmful positive ions produced by artificial electromagnetic waves
REALITY: The representative could not answer specific questions and pointed the scientist to the internet. When the physicist contacted the 'Amazing Health' website for concrete evidence she was told to 'try one and see for yourself.'

Concluding their report the team said: "The Voice of Young Science network has published this snapshot to encourage more people, from all avenues of science and indeed walks of life, to take part in actively challenging misinformation."
Peter Atkins, chemistry professor at Oxford University said: "The public is well served by scientists prepared to spend time exposing scientific nonsense...they should be applauded for acting as warriors against claptrap."

seems to say: salt lamps do not " work ".....all I can say is I have a house full and since I have had them I have not had any throat problems...so they wok for me.

I came across the following and thought that it might be interesting...seeing that we are near Christmas!

Eating Disorders - Binge Eating Is On The Increase
by Kerris Samson

In the last few years the medical community has finally begun to recognize that just like bulimia and anorexia, bingeing is also an eating disorder. Yet we are all aware of what a person does when they are bulimic or anorexic, but very few actually under the implications relating to eating disorders like binge eating. Where as with the other two a person will either not eat sufficient amounts of food, or will eat food and then try to purge it from their body as soon as possible. With binge eating these problems are simply not there and so it is a completely different kind of eating disorder compared to the others.

In fact it is because the person seems to be eating that many people often do not realize that the sufferer is actually having a problem. In fact for many what they see is that they have the choice about what food they eat as well as having control over their bodies.

Yet even though when bingeing and person is not either starving themselves or placing their health under serious risk through the use of laxatives or from vomiting. This particular eating disorder can still cause serious repercussions where a person's health is concerned.

Those people who choose to constantly eat large amounts of food will then place a considerable amount of strain on to their digestive system and their body. In a large number cases those who tend to binge eat find that they are more prone to weight gain and in some cases will be extremely unhealthy.

When it comes to binge eating the biggest problem that those who suffer from this problem is that they do not actually realize that it is a problem. In many cases to avoid others realizing what is happening they will do their binge eating in secret, along with eating more food than would be considered normal. This is because they feel that they have complete control over the situation.

With most eating disorders the biggest challenge that sufferers of these will have to face is actually admitting to themselves that they have a problem in the first place. They try to ignore the problem because they do not want to admit that they do not have any control over their life.

Although we all sometimes eat more than we should this is completely different from what a person does when they are binge eating. Unfortunately for a binge eater they just do not have any control over how much food they actually eat along with when and what they actually do eat.

Although health problems such as weight gain are relatively minor when it comes to binge eating. It is the psychological problems, which are the more worrying side effect associated with this particular eating disorder. In fact in many cases those that binge eat will often dismiss the problem as nothing more than a habit they have got into or it part of whom they are and something they have chosen for themselves.
